Happy New Year from Wales

Made it to Wales late last night. Took a flight that kept getting delayed, then took the Underground to the train station missed the first train so had dinner in the station. Then took the next one. I met the Ninnemann's at the station and we drove to wales from there.
Just my luck Joe is also distilling and brewing beer and wine. So more festivities have begun!!
We drove to the grocery store today and then to pick up their son. Since Joe was at work and Carole does not have her license, I drove because they let Americans drive on the wrong side of the road and on the right side of the car legally with a US license for up to a year. So I was legal... It was a lot of fun.
We are cooking and fixing a feast tonight with plans to drink wine, beer, and watch movie after movie until midnight!!!

Blessing and Happy New Year to you and yours!!!

13 year and a new family

I have spent the last four days with my friend Marie. She lived with my family my junior year of high school as a foriegn exchange student. She was my favorite thing about high school. We had such a great year and she is a one of the many kindred spirits I have met on my journeys!! She is from Belgium and I just have not had a chance to get over to see her. So this has been the first time in 13 years. She is married with twin girls and they are beautiful!! they are 16 months old and two handfuls! We had a great time seeing the sights of Brussels, and the countryside where she lives.
I have also had a chance to experience Belgium Beer!!! Marie distills some wine and liqour, and her husband Olivier is a beer and wine conousiour. (sp?) so my liver is in detox right now but I did my best to keep up with them and I was happy to try all their beers and wines and Marie's excellent cooking!!
I am on my way to spend New Years in Whales with another kindred spirit and her family. Oh lets be honest I love hanging out with families and becoming part of people's lives. I find a way to make them family.
So I am flying again today, little more security because of the bomb scare recently but have not had too much trouble.

twas the night of christmas

christmas night is here. I am going to fly to Europe tommorrow. I think I am under the weight limit for my luggage. I am checked in, I have my tickets, and have managed to miss the bad winter storm that has swept Iowa. I think all systems are a go.
I realized that I posted a few days ago hurriedly and forgot to give a definition of why I have the title living the questions. It stems from a quote I find a lot of inspiration in.
"Be patient toward all that in unresolved in your heart and try to live the questions themselves. Do not seek the answers that cannot be given to you. Because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything! Live the questions now. Perhaps you will gradually without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer." Rilke
My life is a bit chaotic now: I am traveling, trying to decide good career choices, my residency, wrestling with my life as a single woman, and learning to heal and practice a little medicine. So that is what this blog will be about. I hope you enjoy!!
